OK if you are off for a month, and UV comes out soon, How long will you require before you can begin a PBEM game? I am always available and we could get quite a few turns done in a month.
What side do you prefer or would 2 games at once be too many (one for each side)

I would like to join in as well? As for the back injury ouch I know how that feels. I am a manager of a liquor store. Those kegs are heavy fyi 187lbs. when full.

You were not a beta tester either, were you? Maybe once we each get to know the interface and mechanics, lets say a weekend, then we go at it. You are obviously aquainted with this campaign, as am I, so I figure we just muddle through as the historical leaders did. I'd take either US/COMMONWEALTH or JAPAN, both are interesting. Many people like to play Japan as it is easier on the ego; if you win, you are a genius or your opponent has a problem spooning pudding in his mouth, and if you lose, well, it was inevitable. The Allies have it tougher as they have to win just to look mildly intelligent. See ya in 1942!!

Man I wish I had been a Beta Tester. I would be on game 30 by now. (some people think they need to sleep/eat/go outside once in while.) I don't have much of an ego per say. I do not care about the result of a game that is over. I just like the game in progress and the more problems my opponent presents me with the more I enjoy it. I do get satisfaction from problem solving.
I am a detailed planner who believes no plan survives contact with the enemy so the measure of the plan is how well it can accomodate suprise without requiring the impossible, rather then how well it keeps a timetable.
I believe victory in this campaign was well within the resources of Japan in late 42 early 43 . I consider it one of the most risky adventures the US military ever embarked on.
However the Japanese did not repond with a plan of action but instead a series of knee jerk reactions. Hopefully I can avoid this as Japan.
As the Allies I will have to see if the shoe string is all there is.
With our present hindsight of the event. The US will have to take even greater risk. (You can't just wait for the Japanese to direct events but he does not have to respond peiocemeal)
I am not tactical (ask anyone who has ever played SPWaW against me-lineup/forward go/runaway) I believe that logistics are the thing that wins.
This is why I always try to play both sides against the same opponent. (avoids forcing someone into an unwanted side without them also having what they want.)

Mogami, reference this campaign, an excellent analysis. It is a very close run scenario for either player, more so with strategic surprise voided do to hindsight (this is where WITP will shine in my opinion).

As well, logistics management wins all the time as it can make up for your mistakes with extra resources to fill the breach and allows one to follow through as opportunity arrises.

Looking forward to locking horns with you. I am another who relishes a good fight...this may sound strange but I somewhat enjoy fighting through to the bitter end at the hands of a masterful opponent. Winning is not everything; as you said, problem solving is one of the fruits of this hobby.
