Alternative History Ship Art

Post by GaryChildress »

I used to have a number of sites, some in Japanese where I could find alternative ship art to work on. I've since reformated my computer and lost all my Internet Explorer favorites. I'm wondering if others might have the links to some alternative ship art sites. I'd like to pass a little time before AE comes out doing some alternative history sides.

I do have the following sites restored to my computer.

Wolf's Shipyard
Alt_Naval
Admiral Furashita's site on Combined Fleet

BTW if anyone has any "what if" ship requests I'll be happy to try to do some for you if you can supply me with drawings of the ship. [:)]

If it's not a problem. I've tried but they do not look very good.

Here are two of the Lexingtons. I'm not going to do all of the Lexingtons pictured. I hope you can make do with these two. csatahajos also made a Lexington battlecruiser which looks more like an early 1941 version. These two might be able to double as late 1944 upgrade versions of that one. Here is the link to csatahajos' BC Lexington:

Here is the download link to my two Lexingtons:

And here are the drawings they are based upon:

NOt exactly what you were asking about, but it's pretty cool anyway.  Design your own ship, there's plenty of what ifs that could come from this [:)]

One would have been fine. Thanks!

Until your post I did not notice the differences in the drawing.

Nice art, and quite usefull for me since I've made a little mod using all these 'what if's'.

One thing to note about the Lexingtons in their original configuration...they are woefully under-arnmored. 250kg AP in game will penetrate the deck 100% of the time. The are honestly much better used if converted to carriers. When AE hits I will be able to add them in their original configuration, but also alow a player to choose between continued BC upgrades or convert to the Lexington class CVs.

Actually I did have the G-3 stored away. It was an old side I did a long time ago. I wasn't very happy with the original so I spent a little while yesterday sprucing it up a bit. Also the N-3 is obviously based upon it. The Lexingtons OTOH are created from the line drawings you provided.
