a sort of a bug?

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

a sort of a bug?

Post by jnpoint »

I play France and have just had a total war against Prussia. After I defeated Prussia the war continues and lapsed after 18 months of no war action. But Prussia did not exist anymore, so how can the war continue??

Some years later Poland asked for a protectorate. I said yes. A year later a happy face told me, that I have liberated Poland - so I just liberated them from myself - what a bad idea!!! That is not a happy event, so why the happy face?

In a war against Spain I occupied some provinces. But suddenly the occupied provinces produced a single unit, which liberated that province in one turn. And that happened a lot, so I had to leave a lot of units behind in those defeated provinces. Can that be right?

Maybe this is not bugs, but I think it can't be right either?

I don't know about the first. As for the 2nd, liberation is good (liberal bias) so it always gets a happy face. I have seen this when enemy diplomats liberate one of my protectorates. I did turn the army around and make them pay for the happy face, though. [:D]

The newly created units in Spain, aren't those guerillas? Sounds like it is working as designed...

What scenario was this? In 1812, for example, Spain is especially hard to hold, yes. That was designed.

No, it is the 1792 scenario.

Spain produces guerilla units in all scenarios.  After you take a province, you need to leave a garrison in the city.  And you will likely need to leave a small division protecting your supply lines too.  So yes, Spain is a bit of a pain to hold but that was by design.
