Post by gwgardner »

Can anyone identify all the ports, to-from, that allow port to port transport of troops?

I believe (with naval rules, a disclaimer is always necessary) you can ship directly to any port not more than 2 green lines away on the fleet screen. Another way to look at it is that you can ship a transport into a sea zone connected to your starting port and from there into any other port connected to the same sea zone.

I think that they are marked on the naval screen. If I recall correctly (always a dangerous start...), you select your fleet holding a transport, and you can see the lines running to either ports or sea zones. No line, no direct move.

In my efforts to answer another question I have discovered that my recollection was incorrect. The available ports are indicated by a marking around the port symbol on the fleet screen. Please see my proposed Figure 2 for an upcomming edit of the Ensign's Guide.

Edit: The figure is not as clear as I wish it was, due to the size of the image. Can others comment on it to tell me if it is acceptable, or do I need to try again with a tighter focus on the region of interest?
