Sound problem only when snipers move

Sound problem only when snipers move

I noticed this in 7.0 and now I've seen it in 7.1 also. Sometimes when I move a sniper I hear a short, loud sound...similar to static. Its infrequent, maybe 2-3 times in a battle, but it plays very loud (i.e., its getting on my nerves!). I have a SB Live on an ASUS CUSL2-C motherboard, and I'm running Win98SE. Anyone come across this before or know of a fix?

Do you have improved or original sounds? Also it might be worthwhile to install latest drivers for your soundcard as SB live cards seem to have problems quite often.

I have the improved (stereo) sounds, and the LV sound patch installed also. Ahhh...it started after I installed the stereo sounds. I'll check into that...I backed up the original sounds so I'm covered.
