More Questions

Post by rich12545 »

I went ahead and bought this and have a few more questions.

The only thing I don't like is there doesn't seem to be a way to save during a battle. Or did I miss something? If not, why is this? Seems kind of weird.

There are two infantry mods. Which is best to use? And how do they work? Do they just automatically (once installed) work with all stock campaigns, operations and battles? Do they work together with user mods?

Looks like modswap is set up for cc2, cc3, cc4, and cc5. But not for mt. So it won't work with mt?

What speed do most people run the game at? (just curious)

Looks like a great game. I'm surprised I never paid attention to it before.

Here's another one.  I put a bunch of maps from mods in the maps folder but they don't show up in the editor to use to make a scenario.  How do I get them to show up?

1.You can't save during battle

You will have to ask ATOMIC games why they made it so.

2. There are two infantry mods... you can choose which you like and which to use.... they only work with stock install.

Make sure you uninstall any mod (including infantry) before installing another.

3.CCMT comes with it's own ModSwap
The Modswap that ships with CoI was made before CCMT was even a concept.

4. Run at the fastest speed

5.MAPS: Did you unzip the maps to the \maps folder?

What maps did you put in there?

Did you check they are actually there by exploring your \maps folder?

Thanks for your answers.  I was going to just install all the mods.[:'(]

You forgot to say which infantry mod is best.

Re the maps, my face is red.  I unzipped them all in a "maps" folder.  It was my backup and I intended to copy them to the game maps folder.  I didn't but thought I did.  Sometimes it's a bummer getting old.

Best Infantry mod... it's subjective.

The CoI infantry mod would probably be the most compatible.

Andrew, this is all very interesting.  And it brings up another question.

If a mod is tank heavy and I want to change it, how do I do that?  In other words, how do you mod a .cc3 file?

Also, I started playing the first battle.  How do you tell terrain?  Some is easy, like trees and buildings.  But there're yellow swatches.  What are they?  Marsh?  Is there some way to determine terrain in a battle?

EDIT: I found some instructions at cso that I'll try. And I found one of your posts on the mt (which I'll probably get soon) forum about using the r mouse button for terrain. So it looks like my questions are all answered for now. [:D]
