Revolution in Russia

Post by seaforth7 »

So I've owned this game since it's release and really like it a lot. We have played at least a dozen games nearly all the way thru or at least as far as we know the winner. We have had Russia revolt several times but in every one of those revolts the Reds loose and Russia continues in the war. Seems kind of silly given the Reds did win so you'd think the odds would be with them in the game. Is there some trick the Germans need to do to get the Reds to win and the Russians to surrender?

cheers

I wouldn't say its a trick but Russian morale has to fall to zero while in revolution. You have to keep pounding them/taking cities. Most of the times I've plaid, RU surrenders.

Try this address: tm.asp?m=1904583&mpage=1&key=revolution%2CRussia

If that fails, I set this section as a subscribed one, searched under subscribed areas only, under "surrender Russia" and author FrankHunter. It'll give you much more info on it.

It's just a couple of turns, though (4).

Hmm, just noticed that I "plaid" the game - I've got to learn to misspell without using actual words [:D]

thanks for the info.

Unfortunately once again in our latest game the Reds lost, even after the CP took BrestLitovsk, another food marker and inflicted numerous more casualties during the revolution phase. We are really finding that in a person to person game it is VERY difficult for the CP to win, we haven't had one yet and we are on game 22. We're about ready to set the neutrality to favor the CP just to give them a chance.

I've been doing that for a while - seems production is closer to the historic result that way.

No bug, when any country surrenders, a portion of your army is temporarily removed as a garrison force. These units will begin to return in a few turns.
