2nd LV scenario without heavy Arty

Post by AC »

I've already finished the second battle (you know, taking the town now or wait for the Stug's) with a DV (second, BTW) and did absolutely not notice that the heavy Arty was there on the western bank of the river, loaded and therefore not available. When I went to the bombardment screen, I saw them inactive and said to myself, well, there not available, let's go with the mortars! Only a click to unload them, and my arty would have been much much stronger.:(

So, the lesson is: always take a look at what you have before beginning a scenario. Should be obvious, but ..

BTW, even if played for the second time, this is a nice scenario. I like charging all out with my infantry, bypassing bunkers, using recon units far ahead of the main line.. some kind of seek and destroy.

MC:LV organizational tips.

Quick tip: Just look on your list for GREEN passengers. In the army there are no passengers hehe
Another tip: The nice thing about the MC is that you have a set core. I've listed it on a paper pad. Squads A thru P stay the same so I keep that the top page constant but tear the page below P. On the page below I record the added-on units Q to whatever. The current scenario I'm playing Road to Radieschow has lots of troops and it's a bit tedious but At least I've got a list to keep myself somewhat aware.

Heheh AC, I did the same on scen#2 :D

I "discovered" my heavy OB arty with about three turns to go - they did a great job of destroying infiltrating SO squads amongst my mortars, though. It saved me a few VH's...

It's good not to be alone, Belisarius!
