Zoom, zuntzu,vassal

Post by bo »

In the MWIF computer game when the zoom is changed say from a 4 to a 6 is the screen redrawn or does the zoom level just change right away to whatever zoom level you have chosen. Also I have downloaded both zuntzu and vassal and I am enjoying the maps. What I am about to say will show you I have no knowledge what I am talking about[&:] I happen to like zuntzu better than vassal only because of the zoom feature, vassal to change zoom has to redraw the maps and takes awhile each zoom level where as zuntzu takes a little while to load when you begin but its zoom is awsome and easy to use. I think every newbie like I am should download both, It is very easy to do and it allows you to move units around the map and get a feel of the game [minor feel]. You can get the feel of placing the initial force pool of any major country onto the map and in their respective countries. I was almost hoping a game would break out but it didnt[>:] The more I look at this game the more impressed I am with what you players of the board had to go through like checking terrain, weather etc. just to get a battle modifier WOW!
I know MR and other players expressed their opinions about the love of the game and the difficulties they encountered in the game in another post but I am more in awe than before.

Changing the zoom level redraws the map in MWIF. That is very fast unless you are working with a large screen and/or zoom levels 1 -> 3. During game play you will want to move to a different part of the map frequently and the screen redraws for each of those. For example, as the Allieed player you will be looking at Russia, France, the Med, China, Singapore, India, and the east & west coasts of the US. Map redraw speed was a major concern and though like every other person who owns a computer, faster is better, it is fine (IMO). This isn't a twitch game anyway.
