What is Times of Wrath?

Post by sapper_astro »

I have been looking about for a strategic WW2 game, and after some discussions on other forums, have been pointed in this direction.

However, I have seen this "Times of Wrath" mentioned a number of times, and how it will be out soon. Can anyone elaborate what this is exactly? Is it a patch? A new version of the game (like War in the Pacific: Admirals Edition, etc)? I am really thinking of buying this game, but would not want to make the jump if a better edition is just around the corner.

i'v also become very interested, and upon looking at Times of Wrath i prefer the cleaner map graphics of Road to Victory - will there be an option to use the older graphics or to 'mod' the new map using the older map files?

OK ToW has got my attention, any chance of a diplomatic model?

I also noticed in the Gallery that even though the hexes highlighted by potential AP cost were of the same terrain,  one had an additional AP cost, out toward the back.  Does that mean there will be facing feature for units.

Great

Yes.

it's not the cost, it's AP left after entering this hex.
Does that mean there will be facing feature for units.
No, not yet. With this scale this could be nice feature, but without any real impact on the game.

Yeh I understand that once you proceed into the red highlighted hexes you probably can't attack (not enough APs remain), but I'm wondering how come the tank unit can proceed to the 5 green highlighted hexes towards the German units yet the one hex on the opposite side is red?  (Gallery screen #10, 1st row,4th down)

It all seems like the same terrain, same effects, as the other 5 hexes, what am I missing?

No, if you enter there and attack, then you won't have more AP for move.

I think there is a bad weather, so that's why the entry cost is higher (visibility of clousd at this screen is off)

I've been reviewing some of the AARs for RtV and I'm noticing not a lot of comments/feedback on the Naval-Air aspects of the originating program of ToW.  Is there an AAR suggestion to examine those features?

Is it safe to assume that RtV is the model for ToW naval and air mechanics?

Also the unit density seems to be quite high for RtV(clickfest), is there any merge/breakdown feature for ToW?

@TPM, check at http://timeofwrath.com

@SeaMonkey:
A first AAR should be published soon.
We have upgraded naval, air and air/naval warfare model, but I would rather call it evolution that revolution.
During Barbarossa, Axis has fielded over 150 divisions in eastern front. Time of Wrath is on divisional/corps scale so there will be a lot of units.
