Just when Makin was about to get it...

Post by Misconduct »

Basically I guess you can't load a unit until the transports are completely empty, I had very little (under 200) supplies in a few AP's and tried to load 3 Divisions on my AP's (1st/2nd USMC Division and 151 RCN) it must of bugged the transports cause it shows all 3 divisions disappeared off Tarawa's ground troop - however when I tried to land on Makin believing the transports were full, wasn't fun to watch only 200 marines landed and 3 divisions wiped out lol.

Lucky it was a saved game, only question I do have for all out there is what are the loading bugs that are known?

For example once in a blue moon I will load a unit into empty transports (I think 7000ton AK's) And it will show the transports are full however it shows them "empty" until I view the ship itself which will show the units. Sorry if i'm having trouble explaining it, one of those "well it doesn't give me problems don't mess with it issues".
I usually know they are full by the % Loaded, example 19000 loaded of 20000.

I would be highly pissed in a PBEM game this far in my first campaign and lose 3 divisions to a loading bug [:@]

There appears to be a bug if you try and load troops into partially loaded ships.  If I want to load troops in a TF that has some ships still with supplies in them, I split the empty ships out in a separate TF and load the troops into them.  Let the partially full ships unload and then you can add them to the troop TF without any problem.

I hope AE cleans up troop loading. I still have issues with it. Troops semi loading or being left entirely out still happens more often than it should. I know there are formulas and what not to get around this. But there should be a more elegent solution to clean this up. I am not going to call it broken, but the game design here is less than perfect and I would say not acceptable. A better solution needs to be found.

Might want to put that question in the AE naval thread. Not sure if Don and John reads these posts.

I agree, I am sure when AE comes out it will be much better game, however I believe in all fairness AE is on the same timeline as Duke Nukem or in other words "is it ever coming out?"

To bad nobody could design an unofficial patches to make a few upgrades, in another arguement was about the ASW patrols finding 100% of the submarines in the search area.

I like matrix because they keep patching... many game developers just make a patch or two... but Matrix is best, they keep patching and developing..
Just like UV, it reached v 2.xx when I played it... and WITP is up in 1.8xx so Its very good that they keep working on the prodjects ect, I like that a lot with Matrix.

Hmm, I've done it many times though.

Make sure to set to Do Not Unload, set cargo status to Idle, then Load Troops Only.

This works every time for me, its one of the ways I speed up troop movements, by sending supplies to the base to be loaded from, letting it unload enough to fit the troops, then doing the above.

Yeah I need to do this from now, seems to take a month for simple AP's to load troops, and AK's take 1 turn.
