The attached composite image of the state of the main unit and its sub-unit containing damaged aircraft over the course of two days shows the problem. As this is from an ongoing PBEM I've redacted useful intelligence. As can be seen, on 21 March the sub-unit is still at the front line base with six damaged airframes, but on the following day it is left with only a single airframe (in flyable condition), though still with six pilots, as on the previous day. The main unit has stayed unchanged over both days, with 21 airframes and pilots. The sub-unit has lost 5 aircraft.
It's possible that two of the lost aircraft found their way back into the pool, but I'm not sure as I am going from memory as to what the total in the pool of A6M3's was on 21 March. It does seem clear that at least 3 aircraft from the sub-unit simply disappeared.
This isn't a big problem, but it's never good to see your aircraft pool being depleted inexplicably like this. I thought I had noticed this happening on a previous occasion, but wasn't sure - this time I have the screens to demonstrate it. Is this a bug? I searched the forum for reports of similar behaviour, but could find none. If anyone can explain why this is happening I'd be glad to hear.
