Israel-48

Post by Obsolete »

I played this game originally a decade ago I think, however I never did master all the nuts & bolts behind the scenes, and a lot of what I did know seems to have been modified now.

I'd like to re-do this scenario, but go through it on a turn-by-turn basis and hopefully someone can point out anything I'm doing that seems very foolish? Then either I'll switch sides, or ramp up to a deeper map like the old Italy scenario.

I don't like the map-bmp dump feature because it just comes out so horrible. Instead I took a regular screen shot that shows much of the beginning for the start of turn #1. I will be IDF vs the united-arabs.

Normally I prefer the 1024x size because I can easier see all details, however this prevents the Matrix clock-timer on the side-panel from showing, so I re-upped the screen-size again.

Anyhow, does anyone have any suggestions at this point? I am really thinking about using the Lake here as a wall, so I can trap many units against it and force many surrenders. I'll fall back a bit, and invite the enemy to try and capture my city worth a lousy 10 points.

It seems I only have one commando unit, and I'm selecting it right now in the shot. It's also my most powerful peace, and luckily it's in the right area of the map to use it to great effect. Though I will pull it back a bit to invite the arabs into my little trap. I know.. I know I lose my initial over-supply doing this but so be it.

Down far south I'm thinking of vacating most my cities, to better position my units for power-hits.
