Not all of these are serious

1) Buy her a Wii

2) Teach her to play WIF

3) Buy her the boxed set of her favorite TV Series on DVD

4) Lower her expectations by staying out until midnight every night so that when WIF comes out she will be happy because 'at least you are home'

Start by lowering her expectations then teach her to play since you are spending "family time" with her. If this fails try both gifts and claim them as "family time". If she is still mad about gaming and television as "family time". Divorce her so you can play MWiF whenever you want to. [:D]

On a more serious side, get her the Wii if she likes gaming and the series if she likes TV. However, IMHO take her on a mini weekend trip to a scenic bed and breakfast or winery. Memories beat gifts hands down for most women. Been married for 29 years now. I do this every 3 to 5 years so it doesn't get old or expected and is a nice surprise for her when I do.

Simple things go a long way (38th wedding anniversary coming up next month). In that time we have had ~4 arguments.

We always have dinner together (though not any other meals). I always tell her when I really like what she prepared for dinner (this never gets boring for her to hear). Remember her birthday, valentine's day, and the anniversary. The best birthday gift I ever gave her was agreeing to do the dishes on any day that she worked. I go out and buy dinner on Friday nights and always spend Friday night with her (usually watching a movie). Kiss her goodbye and hello every time you part/get together. Listen to her when she says something. Be friendly and upbeat. None of this takes much time (except doing the dishes).[:D]

Wow. This thread should be a sticky under main forum at Matrix, titled something like "How to Be a Gamer and Save Your Marriage Too" or something [:D] Great advice guys.

I'm coming up on 7 years myself this fall. Good advice.

Remembering anniversaries!  Have I got a story to tell..

One day at lunch with some coworkers they were discussing how long everyone had been married.  Someone asked me and stopped to think and realized that my anniversary was the day before.

I grabbed my cell phone and called my wife and wished her a happy anniversary!  She had forgotten too!!  So I got the 'get out of jail free' card!

When WIF comes out, I may have to cash it in.  [:)]

I found that my wife having her own computer made a huge difference in the amount of time I could spend playing games.  If she is playing too (some other game or just surfing), the clock is not ticking.  Of course, everyone is different.

Did she realy forget it or just love you so much she didn't want to let on. A spouse in love is an awesome thing!

She really forgot.  Trust me, she was as surprised as I was.  Truth be told there had been a family crisis the week before and we were preoccupied picking up the pieces.

In 20 years, she has forgotten our anniversary once, forgotten my birthday once, and got mixed up on which day of the week it was and missed my birthday once.

I have 3 get out of jail free cards and I am hoarding them!
