Silly stuff

Post by Hard Sarge »

should a runner be able to steal 2nd on a pitchout (looked like it was a pitch out, the Manager called for one)with 2 outs, and then have the batter strike out afterward ?

I got the SB for the inning

(it was one of those plays, were the pitch count didn't come up, it stated the manager was calling a pitchout if...., then runner attempts to steal, safe on throw, then strike 3, batter is out, if batter is out on strikes, there was no play at 2nd)

How can a batter strike out on a Pitch Out? Is he Mr. Magoo?

well, if it was a pitch out, it can happen

(it all happened kind of quicky, to be sure of what all was being said, I know the manager called for the pitch out, and that the runner took off, but never got the pitch count)

but as I was saying, if the batter did strike out, there was no play at 2nd base and no SB (don't get me wrong, I will take it, but in the long run, it is wrong)

Yeah once he swung and missed for strike three and the third out, the play is over and it doesnt matter what happens with the runner

I see what you are saying. The pitch out never actually occurred. In that case it definitely shouldn't be scored a stolen base if he went when the 3rd strike occurred.

(understand that we know there are some issues with pitch count, so just showing some of what i am getting, not overly complaining :)

3-2 count, runner goes, and it is a ball, runner safe, batter still at the plate, stuck out on the next pitch

even worse, read it again, it is a 3-2 pitch, and the base runner stole on the 0-0 pitch ?????

what is the 3-2 count stuff then ?

which after the stolen base, the next pitch was 2-2 and a strike out

now this one, I don't know what it is

stole 2nd base, then got a 3-1 count, and then got a 3-1 count, and my batter ripped a double down the line

but thought I would show it, in case it is issue or not
