The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone who has followed the game over the past three years since I became involved in the development of the rekindled Horse and Musket engine. It has been a long road that included a year stint in Iraq. Glad to be home and to release the game.

Mike Cooney, Magnuss Pettersson, the beta testers, and the Matrix Team have been fantastic to work with and all are true professionals with a passion for computer wargaming.

Horse and Musket Volume 1 is just the start of the series. I am working plans to continue the games and to expand to cover other conflicts.
