Is this game easy to learn?

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

Is this game easy to learn?

Post by leftydad »

I don't know much about this period of military history. And it doesn't look like there is a tutorial for this game. Any suggestions on the best way to learn how to play this game (I know, read the manual, but I just wondered if anybody experienced with this game had any helpful tips)?

Leftydad:

The game is very easy to learn. You can probably play right off without reading the manual. There is a lot of tactical detail involved that you will appreciate more if you DO read the manual (you will also play better).

One (bad) sentence review: Great game play; outdated and ugly graphics; but I will take gameplay over graphics any day.

The game play is easy. As far as the graphics being ugly I don't think so, but that's a personal prospective. My question to everyone would be, how many 7 Yrs War games out there are there? Answer, not many.

This one and the upcoming Rise of Prussia are about it as far as I know. Slim pickings.[:(]
