HQ units control

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-Can US Army HQ units control and supply non-US Army units in WITP? Example:-If I have US III Corps invading an island, with one Army & one Mar div., does III Corps assist the MarDiv.?

Or, is the assistance less than 100%?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

yes
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Its true. This was a real step backwards from PacWar. Never understood it myself. Sig Int is another.

Amen, brother-san. Other things Grigsby used to build into his games that got lost along the way (unfortunately, I think) include the weather system from WitSP and the excruciating demand for precise control of in-air time from Carrier Force.

Did I mention the wind direction effects on carrier ops and the naval movement system, also in CF?

Oops. Sounds like I'm militating for WitP-AE in hourly turns...

Well the weather in WitSP was fine, but all you had was Truk to Guadalcanal. A tad simpler than 60% or so of the globe that WitP covers [;)]

But you are right in as much as there has been no development of that since then (and that was a very long time ago). Andy Brown and I have been talking about doing something in AE, but I think his plate has been full of other things as of late. Maybe now that AE is almost out the door we can look at it.

Never cared much for Carrier Force. That game always came down to starting range. If you were in close the allies win, if it was a long range fight the Japs win.
