Switzerland

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Is there any chance to influence Switzerland,or are they hardcoded neutral?

Switzerland has a Diplomatic Volatility of 1 (displayed in Parentheses several places in the UI). This means that an attempted trade agreement (moving Switzerland from Balanced to Leaning toward you) would have only a 10% chance of success (and offer no other benefit, since Switzerland has no resources in the game). It further means that there is only a 1% chance that Switzerland's Diplomatic stance will change based on DoWs.

All the implications of Diplomatic Volatility are outlined in the Game Manual in section 10.4 - Neutrals.

Plus five infantry units waiting in rough terrain if you try the less than diplomatic option. You do get the feeling the developers wanted Switzerland pretty much left alone. [:D]
