run time error

Post by JUNGLE JACK »

Has anyone else had this problem?

I took over the Royals at their expansion year of 1969. When the game wouldn't let me move any of my pitchers to the open spots in the rotation and bullpen, I demoted then all to the minors. This has worked on previous seasons I've played. This time however, when i try to promote my pitchers back to the majors I get this message:

run time error '1341':
syntax error in insert info statement

... thewhole game then either locks up or turns itself off.

I suspect that I'm royally screwed, and that I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the whole freaking game yet again.
BTW - I'm probably the last sucker that actually paid for this game - and I've yet to play it after weeks of ownership.

Someone please tell me that I won't have to (yet again) completely trash the league history I've built up over the last 39 seasons.

O.K. I figured out that if I switch my team to cpu control and tell it to fill the roster spots it does it with no problem - and then I can switch it back and promote, demote, embarrass and demean my players at will.

Can you give me a few more details on your association configuration, steps to reproduce the error etc? I'd like to try and re-create / fix this.

Thanks.

I am using real players with 40 man rosters and started my association in the year 1930. I changed the royals to human control after the expansion draft but before the post draft free agent period. When i viewed my team to make final roster moves all of my pitchers were on the roster to the lower left of the screen, but they could not be successfully placed in the rotation or bullpen slots.

I realize now that I should have just let the cpu fill the spots and make changes afterword, but this problem occurred many times with the previous puresim program that I downloaded to my (now crashed) hard drive. When I had a pitcher who wouldn't move to an available spot, I would demote and promote him and then he would fill a spot.
