Thanks for the replies, unfortunately I was getting too many CTD's and this was ruining the fun for me. I'm too proud about my honor! [:)]

Therefore, I am waiting for the game to be more stable before I try pbem again.

With the 1.12 beta patch, I haven't had a single crash, and that includes frequent alt-tabbing... 

I am rather busy right now, though, so if I go for another PBEM, it'd probably move at a snails pace... :(
