Another Scoreboard and 2009 Players

Post by puresimmer »

I did a scoreboard mod using a scoreboard mockup Padresfan sent me. I also sent the sample along to him so he can use it as a template to work his magic!

Check out this screenie (and NOTE I have full 2009 rosters in this pic... Wink Wink...

So I created a scoreboard in this updated style and made it available on my website last night. Here's a picture of it along with another idea I had... Any thoughts?

Looks great, but is there a way to put more contrast on the scoreboard between background and the score lines?

Suggestions? I am following the style from parks like old Forbes Field and Fenway. That's pretty much how they do it as well.

Thanks Shaun. I'll probably mod the rest of the windows in the green/white/black style and release it as a package. I think the PureSim blue is ultimately easier on the eyes, but it might be a nice change of pace.

I definitely like the new scoreboard and the green lineup cards, as well. I will definitely use them when they are available. And, as far as contrast, I'd rather see less contrast. Shouldn't the green background of the character boxes be the same green as the scoreboard, or is the way it looks authentic? Anyone have a photo link for comparison?

I don't know about the contrast, because when I look at the scoreboard it reminds me of the scoreboard on the Green Monster in Fenway, other scoreboards that are meant to look like the numbers are hung as opposed to electronic. I do believe there are some other more modern scoreboards with the same look, but I they are not coming to mind.

I see what you're saying, and that's really the simple look that I am looking for, so I really have no clue what I was going on about.

Taz got it! I was going for the look of the scoreboards where the numbers are hung, and those faded green boxes represent the windows.

LOL.. you know, I kicked around some ideas for "embellishing" the scoreboard with ad's and such, but ultimately, the thing get's too damn large and I thought that folks wouldn't appreciate the wasted space.

Damn... I just looked at some images on the web and now have some new ideas for new scoreboards... This mod thing is like an addiction... One easy variation I can make is to change the boxes in the existing scoreboard to black, simulating an electronic scoreboard like the one here:
