CAW II Suggestions.

Post by RyanCrierie »

So I'm sure that SSG is probably studying possibilities for a CAW 2.

Some suggestions.

1.) Move away from the current interface to something more streamlined and in keeping with modern UI conventions -- while CAW was a very graphically lush conversion of the original game; it still was a straight conversion in many ways.

2.) Work harder on making it easier to mod the game -- while it was a relatively simple matter to figure out how to create the graphics and implement them in for new ships and aircraft; creating new scenarios was a mess -- what with having to figure out the warcards et al.

I didn't care or the interface graphics. I remember thinking that they'd have looked better in black and white. B & W photography was really superior to color back in the forties, and there are a lot of nice images available. This would make a nice mod, if its possible to substitute the game screens, buttons, etc.,.

Has anyone ever done a 1930's mod for CaW? It'd be a lot of fun. The aircraft were less lethal, and I suspect that the engagements would last longer.
