Here is the description
This scenario simulates the battle of Cannae
1 BACKGROUND
The Battle of Cannae was a major battle of the Second Punic War, taking place on August 2, 216 BC near the town of Cannae in Apulia in southeast Italy. The army of Carthage under Hannibal decisively defeated a numerically superior army of the Roman Republic under command of the consuls Lucius Aemilius Paullus and Gaius Terentius Varro. It is regarded as one of the greatest tactical feats in military history and, in terms of the numbers killed, the second greatest defeat of Rome.
Having recovered from their previous losses at Trebia (218 BC) and Trasimene (217 BC), the Romans decided to engage Hannibal at Cannae, with roughly 87,000 Roman and Allied troops. The Romans massed their heavy infantry in a deeper formation than usual while Hannibal utilized the double-envelopment tactic. This was so successful that the Roman army was destroyed as a fighting force. Following the Battle of Cannae, Capua and several other Italian city-states defected from the Roman Republic.
2 RULE CHANGES
Supply range is vastly expanded. Supply doesnt have any weight.
There is almost no free experience gain per round.
HQ power decreases after 3 hexes.
HQ cost 99 PP to build.
AP added cost of moving close to an enemy hex changed from +10 to +5.
3 UNITS, SFTs etc.
These are almost the same as in the punic war scenario except that some movement is changed and the great leaders.
Mounted officer
Also there is added an SFT called mounted officer. These work as normal officers, but are mounted.
Great leaders
These supply somewhere between 250 and 900 staffpoints. Thy also have somewhere between 100 and 500 recon points. Since normal infantry doesnt have any reconpoints leaders are important in this aspect also.
4 PRODUCTION etc
There is no production other than supply/PP during the game.
5 VICTORY
At the start of round 11 the regime that has suffered most losses loose the battle.
If at any time before that one regime captures the whole camp of the other regime without loosing any of its own that regime wins.
The scenario is downloadable at this page. To play it you must have the Punic War scenario installed. I havent playtested it much.
