Harrier self destroyed

Post by morphin »

Hi
H3CA Version 3.10.0.23 Beta Build 23 and scenario 6.0 Steel Broom (PDB). At begin i set to take off a few harriers and shortly (1 second) after take off this message for all my harriers:

"Unit 1042 - Harrier II can no longer maintain minimum airspeed"
"A042 Harrier II has been destroyed"

-> I think this is a bug...

Yes, it is a bug.

Thanks for taking the time to try out another PlayersDB scenario.  AFAIK, that scenario runs fine in 394 if you care to finish it.  [8D]

Hi Hermann

I can't open my save game on 394. I give quite a few orders. Do you know a workaround to open it?

If you saved the scenario after starting it with ANW 3.10, you can no longer open it with v394.  You will have to start over.  Sorry.  The game versions are not backwards compatible.

This means if you:

1) used the 3.10 H3Editor to save the Database, or
2) used the 3.10 ScenEditor to revise a scenario, or
3) opened a game and started it with 3.10 Game Engine,

it is now in 3.10 format, too.  That also means that you cannot open or run anything with the 394 version.  The only solution if that has happened is to re-install the PlayersDB Library and then re-start the game with the 394 version.

Harpoon ANW users can get the

I thought that this is so. Thank you. It is a pity i spend many hours planning and make missions, formations and know i have to do it again... So i first thought to try your monster scenario axis Evil. Luckely i didn't [;)]

Harpoon 3 [ANW] scenarios for the PlayersDB

Post by hermanhum »

Do you prefer playing through the use of Missions as opposed to manual control?  Or, do you set up some missions and control other units manually?

It is always interesting to know how players use the game.  I hope that you have as much enjoyment the second time around.

I recommend keeping your save game (if you have one before the plane crashes) to complete at another time and perhaps playing another scenario in 3.9.4. This bug is definitely at the top of my list.

Thanks for the report. I'll report back here when a fixed build is available.

Howdy morphin,

A new build is available with the fix for crashing Harriers. The issue concerned hovering VTOL capable aircraft not being allowed to hover. Aircraft have a minimum speed they must maintain. Helicopters and VTOL capable craft are exempted from this requirement. Further study should be given to VTOL capable aircraft while they are launching and other situations where speed changes occur. Thanks for the input!

The link to the new build is here:

Thanks again,
