Why no demo?

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! This turn-based grand strategy title, the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory, puts the player in charge of the political, economic and military decisions of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations.

Why no demo?

Post by TigerTC »

(I rarely if ever see Matrix Games with demos.)

I'm really interested in buying ToW and just stumbled on it. I've been looking for a game like this since I got tired of SC (SC2 didn't do it for me).

I'm also extremely conservative and leery of buying new games that I can't at least get a feel for before I play. Right now I'm waiting on the slew of reviews I expect to be released on this game before I'll really consider buying it, but if Matrix Games would let me give the game a try with a Demo I'd be much more likely to buy it sooner.

Awesome -- looking forward to it and hopefully a purchase afterward!

Any idea exactly what date?

Hi David,
please pardon me for asking stupid questions, but I do not know what you mean. [&:] (I am not a native English speaker). Do you want me to change my reply to Arsan? (It was only a joke, we know us from another forum.) Or do you referring to the link in my signature?

Regards,
dooya

In English, David meant to say: We do not allow any CURSING (bad words, like bulls...) on this forum!

Many thanks for letting me know. Actually, the "No quote..." line is in my signature for so long (in other forums), that I did not even think about that David could refer to it. [:(] Of course I will change it.

Not until next week, there are still some things to finish with the demo.

Without trying the mechanics, I really can't weigh in with the benefits of 7 years of SC development, much of this ground has already been covered.

Well, SC is more polished at this point in time... but this game has a much different feel than SC, less random research, ability to attack from more than one hex, all countries playable make it rather appealing even after 1000 sc games :D

No doubt I can tell it is a different approach to the European theater, but it seems lacking in the air-naval model.  There are plenty of custom campaigns from SC basis, much like TOAW since it has a similar editor.  Not to mention SC's excellent PT and Nupremal & Big Als world campaigns, but I do see potential here, I'm just wondering if its worthy of the effort.  I don't know how much dedication these wasteland guys have as I'm well aware of Hubert Cater's.
