...and not $49.99 CAD

Come on Matrixgames, I want to buy this game but not when you have different prices for different countries. I go to Gamer's Gate to buy games and they charge me USD so I pay the same as people in the U.S. which is how it should be.

I could change my IP address to that of a U.S. one using a proxy server but that is risky so don't want to have to do that.

It's called the exchange rate. As of Friday, July 16th the rate for Canadian to US dollars was 1.11668, or 39.99USD = 44.656CAD. You're saving 5 cents US and still complainig?

We set the prices at the date of release based on the exchange rates then and update them roughly quarterly thereafter. The exchange rate does what it does in the meantime. Sometimes in the past it meant that our games were less expensive for other currencies, sometimes more.

If we could all predict the exchange rates we would all be in banking.

I'm not saving anything because Matrixgames has different prices for different countries so I would be paying $4.41 CAD more than Americans. That is just one example, some games they sell are even more out of whack in pricing. If I buy a games from Steam, GamersGate, D2D, or Impulse I pay in USD so pay exactly the same as someone in the U.S. (except for Visa's small cut) and that's how it should be here too. Fluctuating games prices do not make me want to buy them at all unless it is in my favour, which it isn't. When I go to the retail store and buy a game the game prices do not fluctuate every 3 months either.
