Does it matter if Amphib Corps HQ not on AGC?

For some reason I can't load one of my Amphib Corps HQ's on an AGC or AP's. It only seems to load on AK's--same for an Amphib Force HQ I have which won't load on AP's. Just curious if the Amphib Corps HQ has to be on an AGC to get the bonus.

I'm playing BigB mod.

Amphib Corps HQs are just regular HQs. It's the Amphib Force HQs that you need to load onto an AGC.

Amphib FORCE HQ goes on the AGC and stays afloat (landing bonus)
Amphib CORPS HQ is the one you land (combat bonus)
Not sure whether the ship type has an impact - I'm sure it should (the AGC had all the necessary comms gear to coordinate a landing)

Putting the Force HQ on APs will take several ships, whereas it will all load onto one AGC.

AGCs will only load Amphib Force HQs. The Corps HQs must be loaded onto whatever regular transports you have available.

It won't unload in the landing phase will it?  Or will it stay on the ship during this...?

Well, it has to be in a tf that is "not" unloading. Just put it in a support Tf that is located in the invasion hex.

Yeah, don't put it in the assault TF or the Force HQ will unload.  I put mine in a separate TF with lots and lots of escorts and set it to follow the assault TF to the base, and make sure it's set to "do not unload".
