Pinsk

As we have no clear view on the matter of the city of Pinsk I would like to ask players if we should place the city on the map. What are your opining considering the Prypet marshes and its effect in relation to the game?

During WWII Pinsk controlled the railroad through the Pripets.

If you add Pinsk that would certainly liven things up a bit on the Eastern Front. I haven't gotten that far in a ToW game, but in RtV the Pripets were essentially treated as impassible, and could be guarded by light units.

If you do put Pinsk on the map, you may consider modelling the railroad through the Pripets too, by using forest hexes along the railroad route, rather than marsh.

Not sure about the forests for the railway.  In the actual campaign the pripets pretty much funneled the advances so they went on either side of this area.  Only very light formations even seriously attempted traversing the area.

Having a city there might be interesting for the supply implications, but making a path of forest hexes through it would I think make it too easy for barbarossa.  I know I would take Hungarian and Romanian Infantry and send them down this pipeline forcing the Soviet player to then counter by defending the pripet's and this would be at a time when they can ill afford even a few divisions from the main axes of attack.

Here's how the Pripets are modeled in RGW:
