Altering terrain

Can the map editor (ed.exe) be used to convert sea tiles to land and land to sea?

It doesn't seem to have any deliberate terrain changing functionality.

Ownership is easily changed, as are sea zones etc but I've tried to alter the terrain unsuccessfuly using this editor.

Any hints for altering terrain?

It would be very nice if you could do that and ... Change ownership? ... Maddoc, You're a GENIOUS!! I suddenly realised how I can solve the lack of Europen trade, many of the problems in North Africa and the irritating presence of Slovaka in one blow! [:D]
 
And I'm leaving for a weeks holiday without the computer in one and a half hour. [:(] I must wait to tell you all about this until I return and have thought more about it's potential.
 
Oh, yes. If anyone know how to change land to water and the reverse, please tell!
