Game Startup Problem

Post by RobertWevodau »

Hi,

I downloaded the game yesterday. About half of the times I have tried to start the games, it hangs after the opening screen. Two tabs show up at the bottom of the screen - one says "WWII: TOW" and the other says "Microsoft Visual C++...". Meanwhile, the mouse cursor just hangs in "hourglass" mode and I have to ctrl-alt-del and close the program to return to windows.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Robert

After ctrl-alt-del and closing, attach ConsoleOut.txt to your next (or first) post.

Attaced is the ConsolOut file after my latest failed attempt to start the game. I have also attached my dxdiag information (next message) in case you need that.

Thanks,
Robert

Try to rename both intro avi files to any other name, so that game wouldn't see them.

Hi

I think I have precise the same problem as "RWevodau" - can you please tell me how to "rename both intro avi files to any other name, so that game wouldn't see them"

go to your main game folder find a subdirectory called /data/
you will see there several folders and files
find files called intro.avi and intro2.avi
right click on any of them and choose 'change name' option from the pop-up menu, change the name to something else like old_intro.avi and old_intro2.avi
