Extremely weird Overlord. EDITED.

The German Army ends up crushing the Allies, retaking Paris, Caen and ends up with a stronger army in France?

THIS is what happens when you, as Allied player, don't set up your Supply Convoys from the UK to France! Your Allied divisions run out of supplies and get crushed by the German counter-attack.

Certainly could have happened. Remember Eisenhower had his "It is my fault" letter ready. I have defeated Overlord in wargames many times. I asume you were playing the Germans?

That said I have not played the Overlord scenario, and with your experience you may want to tweak the PP to give the AI some help.

No, I'm playing as the Allies vs. the AI German. Without setting up the supply convoys to the continent, there's no way for the Allies to win.

Weird. Nothing like any WW2 game I have ever played, since 1973, I have been playing.

Avalon Hill's Third Reich was released in 1974. So far, the Third Reich 1944 scenario does a better job of capturing the situation in France in 1944 than ToW.

This is good news. I'm impressed that the AI could do that.

Maybe you could show me how to play the Allies? I might be missing something.

PBeM Overlord scenario? Would you be interested?

How in the heck did that happen? [&:]

I didn't set up supply convoys to the continent.

Now that I figured out how to do that, I've won as Allied in Overlord vs. the AI.
