Axis Alllies Overall Strategy

Post by swatter555 »

I think the AI is pretty decent so far, having played into 1941 in my Axis game. I find one thing really annoying, that is how my allies waste their forces. Italy is probably the worst culprit. While getting crushed in North Africa, these bozos are sending 6 corps to help me out in NORWAY. My other allies send troops just as haphazardly.

Here are my suggestions:

1.) The Italian AI needs to focus on the Med and North Africa, probably needs special scripting (I dont know).

2.) The other Axis allies probably need to pretty much stay within their own borders, that is probably the best way to do it. In real life, the Romanians and Hungarians sent units to help out in Russia, but they were only so helpful anyway. Maybe countries (other than Italy maybe) can simply send you units on loan. This would prevent these idiots from clogging up my front line.

I would agree the minor country allies (and Italy) need some work. As you point out, even though their own country may be in danger, they are sending their forces in places they simply shouldn't allowed to be. Remember, however, you can assume human control of a minor ally by using the F11 key.
