Gridline Tool for Planetops

Post by Shark7 »

Since I had to make a grid for myself to add in new planetop art, thought I'd just zip it up and share with the community. There are both Paint Shop Pro and Photo Shop (.pspimage and .psd) files so that you can use it with either program. Usual disclaimer stuff, I'm not responsible for accidents etc. [:D]

The gridlines are bright yellow, so they should show up well for every one.

PSP Guide:

1. Load both the planetop or planetop alpha and the appropriate tool (Allied or Japanese).
2. Select the grid graphic and choose 'Select All'
3. Select Copy
4. Switch to the Planetop .jpg and select all.
5. Create a new layer and select it.
6. Choose 'Paste Into Selection'. The grid should now be an overlay layer on your art .jpg.
7. Choose by Opacity to choose the blank area inside the rectangle where you want to place new art.
8. Swap back to the Plane Top JPG Layer (which is called 'Background') and after copying your new plane top art, simply 'paste into selection'.
9. When you are ready to save, simply delete or uncheck 'make visible' on the layer properties to remove the grid lines. Save as a .jpg.

I don't have or use Photoshop, so anyone who does and wants to add in the use guide for it, feel free to post it.

I hope you find these usefull.
