Odd problem

Just Dl'ed AE and played first turn to see the new goodness. Click next turn and Alt-Tab back to desktop while turn processed just like I do in WITP. Except now it wont return to the game. This is a bad thing.

Any help for me?

Vista Home Premium x64 SP2(I hate this os)
AMD 3.2 Quad core
8 gigs ram
1 gig video card.
All up to date on drivers and patches.

Were you running it full screen or in window mode?

Try it in window mode if you haven't already.
ALT_TAB can cause screen redrawing issues on return, but it seems to work better in window mode

Window mode is adding a -w to the shortcut target.

So, ummmm, where exactly does that "-w" go in the target? Before or after the .exe?

From my shortcut:

"D:\Matrix Games\War In The Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w
