2D zoom-in view?

Post by invernomuto »

I am playing JTCS, I think that a great addition to this game would be a zoomed in 2d view like Squad Battle one. I prefer 2D over 3d, 3D is visually more appealing but 2D is a lot clearer IMHO. Maybe an add in for a future patch?

Agreed.

Although not sure if one of the existing levels should be replaced, or should make a whole new graphics level.

Thoughts? Comments? Discussion?

I think there should be new garphics added and not to replace the old one. Many of us have gotten use to the old ones by now. Its alway better to expand and add to the game then simply replace.

Jason,

Each of us has our favorite few, and the 2 or 3 we use the most. And They cover all 5 of the currently available views. If the new one is done, it should be added as a new one.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I too would like to see a more zoomed in 2D view.I would like more info on the counters themselves, so I dont have to keep clicking them and looking at the side bar.

Whatever.  I like the 3d view.  But add zoom by turning the wheel.

A new graphic level would be the perfect choice, but if it's too difficult then it could replace 3d zoomed out view IMHO.

I have not used the 2D views for actual playing for the same reason. The 2D views give a better view of the battle ground, but the lack of information in the counters is prohibitive, imho.

Perhaps the solution would be to use Panzer Leader type of counters (see my avatar)? That of course would mean a lot of work for the Matrix team, but the result would be awesome.

And please add a new view, the existing views are quite useful.

I strongly disagree.

How about a variable zoom feature for 2d and 3d?

I totally agree, this view could replace one existing 2d view. The counters graphics could be a top view (like Steel Panthers) or a side view (like Panzer Blitz/Leaders).
