General star not visible

General star not visible

Playing Germany against Poland I have noticed that a lot of German units does not have a general star visible but there is still a generals name in the unit info box. Is this correct?

I think it means the unit is within command radius of a 'general' unit.

Yes, it is correct. Unit's general star is visible if this particular unit have assigned commander, in info box is name of assigned commander OR (if unit don't have assigned one) commander that is in 3 hexes range and gives you the best bonus .
