new to TOAW

New to TOAW and just wondering whether there is a good thread on basic and beginner tactics. Have tried a few secenrios and just seem to be banging my head against a wall with regards to dug in opponents.

bombarding them with artillery before attacking can reduce the entrenchment factor
use arty units within range which haven't moved in order to avoid losing too much time for subsequent attacks in your turn

Just to complement what Silvanki said, bombarding with heavy artillery is more effective against fortifications, even if less efficient as anti-personnel (due to the smaller fire rate), as stated in the manual.
