TF Commander Change

Hey, in the Guadalcanal Scenario, when I checked on the commander of the Amphib TF, it had a Capt. as TF commander. when I tried to change the commander to someone with a little more umph, all I got was a list of other Capt., no RADM, VADM, Or ADM for that matter. Same when I checked on a game in progress. Transport, Cargo, Amphib, etc., never gave me any thing higher for a TF commander than a Capt. Seems a bit awry to me.

I would only expect to be presented with a list having captains as the highest rank if I were changing the skipper of a ship, rather than the commander of the task force - impertinent of me to wonder whether this might be the cause.[:o]  Otherwise the only thing occurring to me is that your flagship is from a nation lacking admirals - do the New Zealanders get any?

Nope,LY. This is working from the TF Screen, and clicking on the commander button. And the TFs, with one exception, were all USN. I'd kind of like to have someone with a little more leadership, naval skill, and such leading the amphib TF with the 1st MarDiv loaded on board into hostile territory.

Is anyone else out there running into this problem, or is there a possible problem with my install?

Okay!  It appears to work this way.  If I have a Transport, Cargo, Tanker, Replenishment, or Amphib TF with no combatant ships larger than a destroyer, and with only AK, AKA, AP, APA, TK, AO type vessels - there is no way to select anyone higher than a Captain for the TF Commander.  So, just on a whim, I put the USS San Juan into an Amphib TF, and Lo and Behold, when I clicked onto the TF Commander name, all variety and species of Admirals and Captains appeared.  So, whilst I had two Amphib TFs offloading at Lunga, with a SAG TF in port as well, I transferred USS Vincennes into the Amphibs.  And, then I could draft a RADM to be the TF Commander as well.  So, I put Vinennes back into Admiral Scotts TF, and the RADMs stayed in the Amphibs.   Glory!!!
