After many months of the hard work, blood, sweat and tears. The despair, the rage, from the chewed fingernails to the lost hair I am interest how the developers and the team are currently satisfied with the sales of war of the pacific admiral's edition .
David Heath was the first employee of Matrix. I became the second, when he asked me if I would like to start a game company with him. I have never asked for an audit and would be insulted, if David offered one. I know him. He is honest. We have operated without written contracts for over a decade.
Do not suggest such things, even with two smiley faces.

Be sure to get an audit on your royalty statements... Wonder who paid for Rutins' spanking new BMW? Check w/ your accountant.
Maybe "Ro" was kidding - I will assume so.

Michael is right, in my experience the "computer wargame industry" doesn't much go in for contracts and audits or such, we work together, to get things done.

Earlier I had asked not for sales figures, but whether or not AE had created a new first day sales record for Matrix. It just seemed that there was so much activity here that day...

Which is a big part of the reason that the games here are so good. Being a part of the Harpoon Classic team, I know exactly how that goes. We work on the game because we love the game and want to improve it.
The thing with Matrix is that most of the games here are made by people that love war gaming and it shows.
War games, for War Gamers, by War Gamers. While that may not be the official slogan it would certainly be fitting for an unofficial one.
Earlier sometime I asked a question on why the game is expensive, and the feedback I got gave me some idea on why this is expensive.. I am yet to get the game and will get it the same day my next paycheck comes in...I am playing some of the other demos they have here to better understand what wargaming is all about though i would love a witp ae demo..
From what I see, Sales figures are probably not that important for a focused company as Matrix games. It looks like they love what they do and their customers/fans love their products at a level much higher than let us say a Call of Duty customer has to Activision. Infact I see that the fans want Matrix games to succeed and they are willing to make it happen by involving themself in the improvement of the game, irrespective of whether the game is a success or not.
Some time back I was wishing that atleast some Companies which are in "Art" business (by which I mean movies, books, games,TV shows etc) should deliver products which appeal to a certain cross section of fans rather than trying to appeal to everybody. They can be satisfied with the level of success they achieve, which might be smaller than a typical mainstream product, but have an audience base that is much more loyal. If more companies were like that then we would see more of TV Shows like Firefly, futurama..games like War in the pacific etc...Alas most companies in a bid to satisfy shareholder will try and create a product to appeal to Lowest common denominator without offering the kind of satisfaction which the hardcore demand. I am glad that Matrixgames is not one of them and I hope they continue to have reasonable success to deliver the kind of games their fans love...
