Windows Mode:HELP?????

Post by m10bob »

When I try to run the program in windows mode, I am not seeing the familiar windows boxes at the top right of the screen..Is it still running in windows?...I ask because my 'puter allows me to run other programs at the same time and WITP/AE is not the power hog SPWAW used to be, and will allow it, but when another program alarms me that it requires a response, I want to be able to minimize WITP/AE momentarily.....Thank you.

BTW:I have searched for this answer, as have others.

No problem for me on Vista so it's definitely not a general problem.

Show me the cmd line that you are using to run in windows mode. Ex - "F:\Programs\War In The Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -wd

What is your desktop resolution when you try to run in windows mode?

What is your desktop resolution?

1024.768..The game plays perfect but I doubt it is in windows mode as it is missing those boxes at the top right hand corner.

I think your problem is that you are missing space in line: "c:\Programs\War In The Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe"-w

It whould be "c:\Programs\War In The Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w

That is, space between War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" and -w

At 1024x768 you will not see the part of the gaming window, try to set desktop resolution to 1280x1024, you should see the entire window.
However, if you're playng in window mode you should see the start menu at the bottom of your screen. If you don't see it, then you're not in window mode.

Put a space between the quoted path to the exe and the -w option, like Sardaukar says.

Bye.
