Changing Slot Allocation

I was curious if there is a way to go in and change the number of slots allocated for ships and planets in the game? Or do you have to be able to program to do that?

at least not yet.

Besides, it wouldn't be fun anymore if you could have a scout with 20 slots.

I would have to dis-aggree.. It could be fun to have certain extra advantages over AI races. Not to mention the fact that I like, now and then, having ships that have lots of energy and fire power. Besides I was thinking of modifing the cruiser not the scout...

Another thing that I think might be cool is to be able to change the class name for some of the ships. Like being able to take a cruiser hull and load it up with fighters and re-name the ship type to carrier, or one loaded with assault pods and call it a assault ship. Just a thought.

Well there's nothing wrong with you wanting to personalize the game, but it's always a matter of game balance when you do.

Do get me wrong, we all want the game to expand further into tech areas and ship classes. Andrew's already made an extra effort into allowing us to change the graphics for the game. Nothing says it won't be taken to a higher level, so hang on tight, you ideas might just happen.
