Quite a few of those depict the Japanese in racist sterotypes. Not sure if thats appropriate here?

Here is one for you though...

I'm a life long fan of the stooges and You Nazty spy is one of my favorties. I've heard it was one of the boy's favorites as well. If you haven't seen it, take a look. Some of the funniest 20 minutes you'll ever have. It's in two parts on YouTube

You Nazty Spy Part 1

You Nazty Spy Part 2

Tons of cool stories about this particular short , here's a few interesting facts:
  • All of the stooges bore a strong physical resemblence to the character they played Moe naturally to Hitler, Curley the obese and eccentric Goering, and Larry's limp for the club footed Goebbels
  • Moe's performance (early 1940) was the first time any American actor played Hitler on the screen
  • The film hits the Third Reich squarely in the eye, satirizing the Beer hall Putsh, Munich conference, concentration camps, and more
  • And lets not forget the Stooges were obviously Jewish and very proud of it, among other things, liberally sprinkling Yiddish throughout this short
  • They made a sequel "I'll Never Heil Again" playing the same characters a few months later. They also made several other anti Nazi films and even some anti Japanese films during the war

Don't forget Charlie Chaplin in "The Great Dictator", starring Hynkel, Napaloni, Garbitsch, and Herring among others. Too bad Chaplin was banned from the US for performing cunnilingus or was it because he was red?

That movie, which came out in 1940, was banned in Ireland because of Ireland's neutrality policy of banning both anti-axis and anti-allied films.
