Aircraft factories auto-upgrading

Quick question on above. Auto-upgrades for say A6M2 to A6M3a happen automatically right? Does it matter whether production the current type (A6M2) is off or must it be producing for the auto-upgrade to happen.

It doesn't matter off or on, it will happen either way. However this does not occur usually all at once and in testing it has been seen that some factories take up until a month to convert.

Right, thanks... yeah, it's been about 3 weeks and still no auto-convert. Was getting a bit worried [8D]

In one game it took an OSCAR factory 25 days to convert to TONYS! Every turn I was like.....now........no darn it!
