Russian effectivity loss

Post by gwgardner »

In my current PBEM game, upon early German invasion of Russia, there has been no effectiviness loss for the Russians. I recall in another thread that such a loss was supposed to take place for a couple of months.

Is it a variable condition? Tied to the historic invasion date?

Very good question. My reason for the relatively early attack on Russia was in part also to take maximum advantage of this expected efficiency loss for as long as possible assuming that it will expire at a later fixed date. But Russia is always good for a surprise ...(it must be your change back to Monarchy with the Tzarina effect at work)

Looking at the events file for USSR it seems the effectiveness loss could occur any time from Sept '39 to 1948, so there must be some other factor.

I have seen it not kick in the very first turn. How many weeks have you been at war?

It's now perhaps 12 turns after the start of the German attack on Russia and there has still been no effectivity loss. If it's a variable occurence, that's fine. Gives the game some added replayability. If not, then it needs to be looked into for attacks starting early on Russia.

I began a 1941 Barbarossa campaign as USSR, I am hit for an effectivity loss of 1/3 on the first turn, it'a a massacre, of course. I wonder how much turns I will be affected.
