Titanic discovery (1985)

Post by TAIL GUNNER »

saw a pretty cool show on NatGeo channel the other day about the how the discovery of the Titanic was actually the result of a secret deal that Dr. Robert Ballard made with the Navy.

Apparently I'm behind the times, as this story was posted over a year ago.[8D]

But, I found it both fascinating and incredibly sad at the same time....I had never heard about the loss of these two submarines in the '60s. In the program they actually recreated what the final moments must of been like on one of the doomed submarines.

Here's a link if interested:

Yeah it's been awhile since I saw it on NatGeo.... I already knew the story ofcourse, but this re-enactment (?) made it all the more scarier.

Interesting read on the history of the Scorpion. It seems the finger is pointed at the overhaul frequency or lack of...

History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.
