OT _ Eighth AF Museum

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

OT _ Eighth AF Museum

Post by Javakamp »

I was curious if anyone here has been to the Eighth Air Force Museum near Savannah GA?

I'm going to be traveling there next month and was looking to check it out.

I went several years ago. I remember thinking it was only OK. As an enthusiast, I think I had high expectations. I'm sure it's fine for someone with only a passing interest. Worth seeing, but not anything to write home about.

I would recommend Pima Air Museum in AZ. One of the biggest collections of Military AC I have ever seen outside of the Smithsonian.

There is also another one in CA out by Riverside, San Bernadino and Hemet area. Cant recall its name at the moment. I used to pass by it on my backpacking and climbing trips into the Sierras. Stopped in a few times and although not very well filled out if you are passing by some very interesting birds were there.

There is IIRC one out by Edwards AFB and another up by Sacramento.. Moffit or Manthan or something.. Jeez.. how the memory fades over the years.
