IJN first turn production - HELP!

Post by Miller »

Busy plotting the first turn. Could someone please give me some basic advice on what settings to change on the first turn? Thanks!

I'm working on it, but don't expect results too early [;)]

Stop both Hitachi engines and Nakajima Kotobuki. Restart Ki-32 production to use the Kawasaki (early) engines left in pool.

I'm an AFB but I suppose stopping the Shinano is still valid in AE. Accelerating TKs and converting some smaller xAK to PB (with DC racks) seems to be popular.
That is the sum of my knowledge of the Japanese production system [:D]

You can optimize your fleet by intelligent conversions.
e.g.: Convert the Ansyu PBs back to xAK while you convert the Kiso xAKs to PB. A fleet of 1PB and 3xAK and an ASW rating of 2 will turn into a fleet of 3PB and 1xAK with an ASW rating of 9 and even more cargo.
While more small ships may be better than one big, you should still do it. If the Ansyu xAK is sunk, you can convert the three Kiso PBs back to xAK at any time!

Another example:
You can gain additional cargo space when you replace all Kiso ACMs by To'su ACMs.

I'm working out the perfect conversion program, the first results can be seen here:

Thanks for helping us NOOBS to the Japan side of things. That wiki is great and will be hitting it often. [&o]

The heavy industry consume 20 resource points.

You can add that to build a new factory cost 10 manpower, 10 HI and 100 supply.
Repair a factory cost 1000 supply (not sure about it, read on the forum).

About land units:
when will come the 82 Naval Guard Unit on the map, it would cost:

SNLF Squad: [(load cost 13*man) + 1 arm] *48 = 624 man + 48 arm
SNLF HMG Squad: [(load cost 6*man) +1 arm] *12 = 72 man + 12 arm
81mm Mortar: [(load cost 4*man)+ (4*arm)] * 4 = 16 man + 16 arm
37mm Type 01 AT Gun: [(load cost 6*man)+ (6*arm)] * 4 = 24 man + 24 arm
13.2mm T93 AAMG: [(load cost 4*man)+ (4*arm)] * 4 = 16 man + 16 arm
Support: [(load cost 15*man) + 1 arm] *58 = 870 man + 58 arm
Total: 1622 man + 144 arm

Is it correct this amount or you have a bonus for the reinforcement units?

Good work guys . I do the best I can with Japanese production. I know it is not perfect, but when in doubt I shut off production here and there at times, keep an eye on supplies every turn, move as much oil/fuel as fast as I can to the HI, move resources to Honshu, and just monitor, monitor.
