zones of control?

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! This turn-based grand strategy title, the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory, puts the player in charge of the political, economic and military decisions of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations.

zones of control?

Post by bo »

This is not a complaint [have to explain that because of my opening post] but an observation. When I play SC2 there are no zones of control because the map is way too small. This map [TOW] is huge which I like, and zones of control are to me very important in this scale of a game. Now there are very knowldgeable players and posters here on this forum so maybe this was brought up before and I am sure they already know about how zones should be portrayed in this game. Oh well just my opinion.
1-foot infantry division should have no ZOC [hard to cover 25 km hex's quickly IMO and be able to take on armored infantry and armored tank divisions].
2-motorized infantry division [truck transport] 1 ZOC maybe [ cant charge headon into battle no armor]
3-armored motorized division 1 hex probably 2 zoc's can handle 50 km's easily in 2 days or 1 week. Armored motorized corp 2 hex's
4-Armored division [tanks] 2 hex's. Corp 3 hex's this unit can charge around and defend without fear.
Is this feasible for the programers to do with out a lot of trouble, or wont this work in this game or just does not make any sense to change.
If nothing else foot infantry should have no zone of control period.

Bo, you're right, it has been discussed before. The conclusion reached was that because the (admitedly somewhat obsolete) game engine prohibits stacking, locking ZOC wasn't workable. [8D]

It's OK buddy, you're one of us, now. You can be rude and opinionated if you want without someone biting your head off.

I hate to tell you this but those comments are the real me I am never rude after I make a fool of myself once, twice its on you[:)] Now could you please explain what you mean in laymans language, are you telling me the programmers cant change the zones of control and also I forgot about the comment by another player about units who are retreating after combat should not be allowed to enter a zone of an enemy without penalty.
Thank you Michael.
