Battlegroup Problem

Running WinXP, have the 4.50.07b patch.
Playing 25 day campaign, multiplayer. My opponent has not had this issue and as of now I have only seen it once.

The battlegroup screen had 6 or 7 spots blank and I couldn't fill them, only replace units in the battlegroup with units in the force pool. There were units in the force pool to choose from. I had 5 Panthers, a Grille and a MG track along with some troops. When the battle started all my slots were suddenly filled, it gave me 3 more Panthers (which I didn't even have in the force pool) and extra squads.

Any ideas?
